Neighborhood from Heaven

We had a strong feeling that this was the house for us primarily because of the neighborhood. It's a bonus that the house is very beautiful, too! However, our feeling has been definitely confirmed as we've started meeting many of the neighbors. "Wow" is all I can say.

The people are soooo friendly and there are tons of kids around. We thought we'd find it strange to have no fences in the backyards, but it feels great!!! It's a quiet street with very little traffic, and I feel very safe. Carlie, especially, (Miss Social, herself) is in heaven with 3 or 4 girls her same age within about a 4 house radius and a couple more girls a little younger, too. Mom is in heaven not having to load all the kids in the car to drive her to playdates daily! Furthermore, we've received cookies or treats from 5 different neighbors at random times as they've come to introduce themselves.

All three kids catch the bus 3 houses down (at 7:15 am, yikes!) and return home at 3:30 pm (many quiet hours for mom and Rachel!). The long days were an adjustment at first for Caleb (Kindergarten), but he's coping very well now! They all seem to love their teachers, their school, their lockers, and the extras like music class twice a week (something CA schools squeezed out) and gym too. (Our hefty property taxes have built a gorgeous school complete with a nice indoor gym like you'd see at a high school, but this is only K-4th grade!)
