HomeRun!!!
Chandler has been playing baseball for the past few years - always trying his very best and never giving up (despite frequently striking out when up to bat). Well, Saturday (4/28/07) Chandler hit a HOMERUN!!!! It was a linedrive that went way past the Shortstop ... to the back of the field. He kept running and running - then Mommy (who was wildly cheering, having dropped the food she was feeding to Rachel - who was sitting safely in the stroller, thank goodness) thought he'd stop at 3rd base because the other team was bringing in the ball. But NO ... he keeps running. Nerve-racking part: Chandler approaches home-plate just as the ball is being thrown to the catcher at home-plate. But Chandler slides with one smooth motion, never hesitating, just as the catcher receives the ball. The umpire instantly declares him SAFE! Yay!!! This is a first (and major accomplishment) for Chandler! We celebrated by eating at IHOP that night (his favorite).

Hooray Chandler!!!! We love you so much and we are very proud of you! It's okay not to hit the ball everytime but it sure is fun to get a good wack once in awhile!! Way to go bud! - Ash & Dan
