Science Camp

During the week of July 9, Chandler and Rachel were our only two kids at home. (Carlie and Caleb were in AZ.) It was pretty quiet, especially since Chandler spent each morning at a Science Camp. He had a blast at a local middle school watching the teachers do demonstrations and making/inventing something new each day. At the end of the week, we gathered all the projects for a picture. Here's a general idea of the things he made: a rocket ship (actually launched once and had a real egg attached that floated safely to the ground with a homemade parachute), a balloon "hover craft", a battery-powered car, a balloon-powered car, a kaleidoscope, a tie-die type shirt (colors made by markers and spread with alcohol), 13 nails balanced on one, and some cool gadget (no name that I know of) that gets wound up and then has an arm that swings a ball around and around for 5 minutes (sorry, it's hard to describe - you gotta see it). Chandler also got to dissect a pig's eye, but he wasn't too impressed. I guess he won't be going the medical route of life! :-)
