Finally Riding a Bike!

Poor Caleb got a "late" start in life when it comes to riding a bike. He never had much interest to learn when we lived in California. Then last December he asked for a new bike for his 6th birthday. Wish granted. Problem: Wisconsin winters are long and not conducive to bike-riding! Then all summer long, we just never got around to helping him. Again, Poor Caleb! Good thing he is our patient child! Then a few days ago he walked in the door from school one afternoon, and the first thing he said to me was, "Mom, could we PLEASE take my training wheels off my bike??!! Even Preston (a 4 year old neighbor kid) knows how to ride a bike!" So Saturday morning, daddy did the deed. Caleb needed very little help, and he was off riding in no time at all. It was a gorgeous day, as you can tell from the pictures! (for anyone interested, our Fall days are bouncing around in temperament ... sunny to cloudy/rainy ... and highs from 54 to 74)

And here's a picture of Chandler mowing the lawn. Marc taught him how to do it back in the spring, and he's been a faithful, hard worker ever since.

I love it when they learn to ride bikes.
