Following the Rogers tradition, the Christmas Elves secretly left new pajamas on the children's beds on Christmas Eve. This year, they all "matched" with the warm, fuzzy, footed p.j.'s that Rachel is very used to wearing. The big kids thought it was pretty fun to get p.j.'s like that ... too bad the Elves misjudged their sizes and got them all too big! At least they'll still fit in a couple years to come!
Mommy dusted off the sewing machine and made hooded towels for the kids this year ... the boys have dark brown towels and turquoise hoods (kind of matches their deep-sea shower curtain), and the girls have white towels with hoods that have princess castles on them (their curtain is covered with princesses, castles, and frog-princes).
One of the best Christmas presents we ALL received was having our basement ALMOST FINISHED (finished enough to utilize now! just a little bit of trim and shelving left to have completed). Marc and I were so excited to secretly have the builder create a "secret room" for the kids underneath the stairs, complete with a kid-sized door. We were almost successful in keeping the whole room a secret from the kids until the last week when Carlie discovered it. We tried to tell her it was "just for storage", but she wasn't happy about it. On Christmas morning we let the kids explore the basement for the first time since the carpet was laid a few days earlier ... and we introduced them to their own private room. They LOVE it and call it their Clubhouse. Here's Rachel in it, along with a new art easel they got for Christmas.
Santa Claus brought an air hockey table to the "game room" in the basement. Caleb and Carlie try it out.
Chandler and Daddy enjoy their favorite part of Christmas day ... kicking back and watching a Suns game.
