Restaurant Celebration for Birthdays

With a little prompting from his parents, Chandler chose Texas Roadhouse for the restaurant to eat at on his birthday. (Mom and Dad were happy to agree to Caleb's choice of Denny's, but 3 days later, looked forward to a more tasty meal!) Chandler really likes to eat ribs, so he was eager to accept our suggestion. However, we turned it into a celebration for both boys because Denny's didn't do anything to "spotlight" Caleb during his meal.

Here's the family (minus Mom, the photographer, of course) at the table in Texas Roadhouse. The kids think it's extra-cool that you are allowed to throw your peanut shells on the floor. Rachel wasn't interested in eating much that night, but she was in love with her very own cup of water with a straw - she hardly put it down the whole time.

Our waitress brought out a big saddle, had the boys hop on, and yelled very loudly to the patrons in the restaurant to pay attention to these two birthday boys ... and had everyone give a loud "Yee Haw!!!"

Chandler requested a lemon cake this year, so to add variety to our week of endless treats I made a Bundt cake. (ok, so I was inspired by recently re-watching the movie "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" ... but I refrained from putting a plant in the center hole!)

Chandler in ACTION! Blowing out 10 candles was tricky ... he mastered nine, but that 10th required an extra breath.
