Squishes for All (G. and G. Rogers Visit)

Grandma and Grandpa Rogers flew from Phoenix to Green Bay on Allegiant Air's final two flights between those cities. (yes, we are crying now) It has been so great to have a nonstop option for the grandparents to come visit us ... and we were hoping to even send the big kids to AZ later this summer on it ... but sadly, Allegiant decided to stop this route. Luckily, the timing worked well for them to come for Kierstyn's blessing.

Grandpa Rogers has been nicknamed "Squishy Grandpa" in our house due to the playful hugs and "squishes" he gives the kids. They hadn't been squished since January, so it came with squeals of delight (and periodic bursts of tears from Caleb ... there's a fine line between playing and hurting, apparently)! Here is Grandpa meeting Kierstyn (12 weeks old) for the first time:

We took our visitors and the kids on a drive up the little penninsula ("Door County") that juts up into Lake Michigan from Green Bay. We've heard rave reviews of this beautiful area. There are state parks, beaches, cherry orchards, quaint resorts, etc. Despite the swarming bugs and impending rain storm about to move in, it was a fun day.

Grandma took the 3 kids on a tour of this old Lighthouse in one of the state parks. It was built on top of a house, and the kids enjoyed seeing how that family must've lived many years ago.

On Sunday, June 29, Kierstyn received her special Baby Blessing at church by Daddy with Grandpa, the Bishopric, and Brother Sam Rockwood to help. We didn't have time to take the greatest photos that day, but here's some quick shots we got.

Saying goodbye to Grandma and Grandpa after a short, but fun-filled visit ...

I love Door County! I hope you liked it. Fall is an awesome time to go. Did you make it to a fish boil? (I hate fish and can't stand the smell when they do those).
