Ears Pierced

For a couple years now, Carlie has asked when she's allowed to get her ears pierced. We decided 8 years old would be a good time, and I think she was secretly glad to have to wait (the fear of pain was a bit too much for her when she was younger). So on Saturday, January 26 (the day before her birthday) she declared she was READY (still nervous, but ready!). We went to mall, she picked out beautiful pink flower earrings, and I filled out the paperwork as they got their supplies ready. Carlie was very, very nervous, but she claimed she still wanted to go through with it! First is the "before" picture (she tried to smile, but it was hard!). She held very still for the piercing, and then big tears eventually rolled silently down her cheeks after it was over. Second is the "after" picture. She was being brave, but not willing to smile.
